Giraffe is a program that makes monitoring the status of computers, processes, directories, files and web pages very easy.
The program is logically divided into six sub systems - five monitors and one alarm viewer. The Node Monitor monitors nodes (computers), the File Monitor monitors files etc.
When adding a new monitored item (computer, file, etc.) you may set some alarm conditions and when these contitions are met (e.g. a computer is not responding or a file is missing) this will be visible in the corresponding monitor aswell as in the alarm viewer.
Finally, Giraffe can import alarms from other systems. The software comes with some sample programs that generate alarms and send these to Giraffe aswell as classes/packages and executables that enables easy alarm generation from many programming languages such as C#, VB6, VB.NET, Java, Ada95, C, C++ etc.
